Stars and Their Waterfront Properties

Whether it’s a private home or a famous restaurant run by Gordon Ramsay himself, waterfront properties are always beautiful. After all, who can resist the sound of waves, the possibility of laying on the beach after 10 minutes of walking, and the smell of saltwater? Unfortunately, it’s true that waterfront properties cost a bit more than their inland counterparts. While some of us manage to scoop up some of these coveted homes, sometimes it’s the rich and famous that buy gorgeous beach houses and other types of waterfront property.

Let’s take a look at some of those lucky people and their homes.

Jennifer Lopez

It’s not clear what J-Lo would like to do with her beautiful home located in Miami, Hello Magazine reports. She still co-owns the home with her ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez, and they have the option of either selling it and splitting the sale or having one of them continue to live there. Both owners have other properties, but this home, complete with ten bedrooms and twelve bathrooms, doesn’t have anyone there to enjoy its beautiful views of the beach or the Miami skyline. What a shame!

Phil Ivey

While some celebs bask in the glow of social media and attention in general, Ivey is on the opposite end of this spectrum. He usually stays out of the spotlight – except for this rare glimpse in his life and his wonderfully decorated waterfront property in Cabo, Mexico. According to Poker.org, Ivey has earned upwards of $20 million through a single online poker account, and at least $21 million in live tournaments. He knows how to stay out of the limelight, but he also certainly knows how to enjoy the good life with his poker earnings!

Leonardo DiCaprio

There have been reports that DiCaprio put his Malibu home on the market a few years ago, but either way, it’s one of the cooler waterfront celebrity homes in recent memory. While he owned the house, he had a couple of renovations done to it, including the addition of a West-facing wooden deck with a hot tub, and the whole kitchen was redone. The house also has a stairway that leads straight to Carbon Beach.

Barack and Michelle Obama

The Obamas have recently bought a Martha’s Vineyard home for $11.75 million, according to TownAndCountryMag.com. Located near the Edgartown Great Pond, this seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom estate also has a fireplace, two guest wings, a boathouse, and a pool. The couple reportedly rented the home for the summer before deciding to buy it, so it seems they’ll be able to happily live there for quite a while.

Robert Lee Griffin III

Football analyst and former quarterback Robert Griffin invested in a waterfront property that he put on the market in 2018. It was apparently sold in 2020 for a cool $1.9 million. This Texas waterfront mansion boasts seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and even a home theater and a massage room – great for professional athletes. The home also has a spa and an outdoor kitchen for those who prefer to cook outside.
